Dr. Salya Namazi (she/her/hers) is the co-owner of The Stixrud Group. She is a clinical neuropsychologist and licensed psychologist who specializes in the evaluation of children, adolescents, and adults with learning, attention, and autism spectrum disorders, as well as emotional vulnerabilities. Dr. Namazi is licensed to practice psychology in the state of Maryland and is a certified PSYPACT provider. She is a certified Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) professional and holds memberships in several organizations focused on neuropsychology. Dr. Namazi is a full member of the World Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and has a special interest in working with gender diverse individuals.
Dr. Namazi understands the sensitivity of neuropsychological assessment, and she strives to provide feasible and useful treatment recommendations to help alleviate her clients’ concerns and improve their overall quality of life. Dr. Namazi also aims to provide comprehensive, detailed, and timely reports (i.e., within one or two weeks from the final appointment) that are clear and relevant for the client, parents, care providers, and teachers.
Dr. Namazi has diverse experience in pediatric and adult clinical neuropsychology. She joined the Stixrud Group after completing a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology where she received extensive training in neuropsychological and psychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, and psychotherapy. She also trained in pediatric neuropsychology under William R. Stixrud, Ph.D. Prior to her fellowship, Dr. Namazi completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship where she specialized in neuropsychological and psychological assessment. Dr. Namazi earned her Ph.D. from the APA accredited California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. Dr. Namazi’s undergraduate alma mater is The Catholic University of America where she graduated with honors, with concentrations in psychology and philosophy.
