Dr. Ellen K. Goldman is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in therapy and assessment. Dr. Goldman is a graduate of Cornell University and received her Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship with a primary focus on the evaluation of learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, and developmental disabilities at the Kennedy Krieger Institute at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, and subsequently joined the staff there.
She has also completed a training program in family therapy, and brings experience in providing individual and family therapy to her work in psychological assessment. Her work in special education programs in Prince George’s County, Maryland, included five years providing assessments, consultation, crisis management, and family support services in an early childhood center for children with a variety of developmental problems. She continues to be interested in developmental issues. She is particularly interested in the identification of learning disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood, and in the effects of these problems on school performance and everyday functioning. Dr. Goldman joined The Stixrud Group in 2001.
