Dr. Salya Namazi

Dr. Salya Namazi is a clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in neuropsychological evaluation of learning, attention, developmental, mood, and neurologic disorders for children, adolescents, and adults.

Dr. Namazi enjoys working with individuals of all ages and finds this work invigorating, from the diagnostic to the recommendations phase. She provides comprehensive, detailed, and timely reports that are clear and are relevant for the client, parents, care providers, and teachers. Dr. Namazi strives to go above and beyond to provide feasible and useful treatment recommendations to help alleviate her clients’ presenting concerns and improve their overall quality of life. She is also active in research related to neuropsychology, and her understanding of the most current research directly informs her clinical practice.

Dr. Namazi has immense experience in clinical neuropsychology. She joined the Stixrud Group after completing a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology where she received extensive training in neuropsychological and psychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, and psychotherapy. Prior to her fellowship, Dr. Namazi completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship where she specialized in neuropsychological and psychological assessment. Dr. Namazi has worked with individuals with individuals with a variety of complex disorders and diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, dementia, cancer, traumatic brain injury and concussion, and other complicated medical and health matters, as well as ADHD and learning disabilities. She has also completed several practica in assessment and psychological treatment of children, adults, and families. Dr. Namazi’s undergraduate alma mater is The Catholic University of America where she graduated with honors and earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy. Dr. Namazi earned her Ph.D. from the APA accredited California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. She is licensed to practice psychology in the state of Maryland.
